Professional Pet Groomers Association Of Manitoba - EDUCATION BREED WORKSHOP (HANDS-ON)

EDUCATION BREED WORKSHOP (HANDS-ON)

SUNDAY, APRIL 27, 2008

Westboine Co-Op Hall, 32 Shelmerdine Drive, Winnipeg
Facilitator:  Tiffaney Taverner, IPG Certifier
& PPGAM President

A terrier and mixed breed workshop will be held on the above-noted date.
It will be a full day with one breed in the morning and one in the afternoon.

This is a hands-on workshop than you can participate in either as a spectator or by doing a hands-on grooming with a dog.

Hands-on registrants need to bring a dog to work on and if you cannot find a dog to bring we will try to find one for you.  One dog may be worked on by two groomers (each do a half dog).

You will also need to bring a grooming table, an extension cord for corded clippers, your equipment.  Dogs need to be brought in prepped (bathed, dried, nails, ears, footpads & sanitary clip done - please no clipping of toenails on site as they fly everywhere and we want to make sure of a great cleanup - it’s hard to find a place that will allow dogs in, never mind grooming!).

The terrier workshop will be for the certification breeds only:  Cairn, Scottie, Westie, Min. Schnauzer, Fox Terrier, Wheaten, Airedale, Kerry Blue.

The mixed breed workshop can include any mixed breed, though we've had a request for Shih Tzu types.

Once registrations have taken place, the timetable for the workshops will be set.  Also, some change may take place in the breed type and style of workshop depending on what kind of dogs are being brought in by registrants.  All registrants will be kept informed of any changes.

Please note that Tiffaney will make available IPG Breed Guidelines for sale and  IPG written testing will be available, both Canadian and American tests.  Check IPG website www.ipgcmg.org for information on IPG testing and fees.

Please register with Rose at 663-6315 or gables@mts.net.

Workshop fees are:
Members:          $50
Non-Members:   $65
